New Framed Art Piece

I am so excited to share with you a new framed art piece I made last night using the *NEW* Spice Cake Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  The beautiful colors remind me of a cool autumn day.  I got a couple of these frames from my friend, Molly, last month and knew right away they would be perfect to showcase each of the patterned papers Stampin' Up! coordinates so beautifully together.

The frame is a 9 1/2" square and I cut 2 1/2" squares of each piece of DSP to fit into the smaller openings.

The center piece was a perfect fit for the new Leaves of a Tree stamp set (also in the new Holiday Mini Catalog), so I got out my markers and inked it up with the colors in the Spice Cake DSP of Soft Suede, More Mustard, Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz and River Rock and stamped it onto Very Vanilla card stock.  I then layered it on the same coordinating card stocks.

I will be adding this frame to my booth at NW Creations & Collectibles (or contact me directly if you'd like one) and displaying it on September 24 at a local women's gathering here in Portland.

Stampin' Supplies:
  • Stamps: Leaves of a Tree
  • Paper: Spice Cake Designer Series Paper; Soft Suede, More Mustard, Pool Party, Very Vanilla card stocks
  • Ink: Soft Suede, More Mustard, Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz and River Rock Stampin' Write Markers
  • Accessories: Ticket Corner Punch, Brights Brads (Old Olive), Paper-Piercing Tool & Mat Pack

I appreciate your comments!

Back to School & Teacher Gifts

I had a great last couple of weeks of summer vacation with the girls, but not much has been getting done in my stampin' studio (or my house for that matter)!  But alas, the girls started school this week and are really loving being big first and fifth graders...

Caitlin

Here's Caitlin on her first day of Fifth Grade with Mrs. Moon

Rebecca

And Rebecca on her first day of First Grade with Mrs. Frediani

I really wanted to come up with something that my girls could give to their new teachers on the first day of school to help kick off the year on a positive note, so I made this "Teacher Survival Kit" box.

The matching card is a great addition in helping the teacher feel encouraged as they begin a new year.

The back of the card includes a description/meaning behind each little item included in the "teacher's survival kit."

This creation/design is this month's bonus project on Craft Project Central.  If you have any questions about the tutuorials I use, or if you want to make them yourself, please contact me

Quilled Aster Flowers

I recently attended the BZBStampers "Bloom With Us!" Hive Happening presented by my amazing upline, Barb Brimhall, and many, many talented Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  I was wow'd by the new catalog demonstrations, fabulous make and takes featuring products from the newly launched Holiday Mini Catalog, made new friends, won an awesome doorprize (stamp set), and ate an amazing catered lunch!  What more could a girl ask for?!

The theme was "Grow With Us," so I thought it would be fun to make these Quilled Aster Flowers to help fill the Grange with!

I got the idea for these flowers from Craft Project Central.

Here are a couple of the other beautiful flower displays:

Don't you just *LOVE* these?!
