Here's a picture of the card opened up.
It fits nicely in an SU! Medium Square (5-1/2 x 5-1/2) envelope, shown here.

To make the bottom section, I used the Scallop & Clear Circles Bigz dies.  I then stamped images from the *new* Bordering on Romance stamp set (avail. Jan 4) in Basic Gray ink and colored them in with a blender pen in Baja Breeze, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz and Riding Hood Red (all coordinating colors from the gorgeous *new* Twitterpated Designer Series Paper (also available in the upcoming Occasions Mini Catalog).

To make the top section, I punched Basic Gray with the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle and Whisper White with the 1-3/4" Circle punches.  I then stamped the sentiment from the Sweet Cake stamp set(avail Jan 4) in StazOn Jet Black and stamped and colored the flower images from the Bordering on Romance stamp set.  I then attached a piece of the *new* Riding Hood Red Pleated Satin Ribbon (also avail Jan 4) with a Regals brad - The new pleated satin ribbons are gorgeous!!
I just *love* the way this telescoping card turned out!  Thanks for looking!

Telescoping Cards

A friend of mine asked me to make a thank you card for a special family he knows, and this is what I came up with:

This image shows the card open and the following image shows the card closed …

I cut one of the flowers out of the patterned paper and adhered it to the top layer.

I made this card using the gorgeous colours and papers from the Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper Pack.

If you look closely, these cards and held together by using brads.  The sentiments come from the Petite Pairs stamp set which is a great set full of lovely matching sentiments – one for the front of the card and another for inside.

I love telescoping cards and how easy they are to make – a lot easier than they look! I’d love to share them with you and your friends at a workshop, so contact me today to book your date!

Stampin' Supplies:
  • Stamps: Paisley Petals, Petite Pairs
  • Ink: StazOn Black ink pad; Cajun Craze, Marina Mist, Old Olive, Tangerine Tango, Baja Breeze, Basic Gray Stampin' Markers, Blender Pen
  • Paper: Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper, Cajun Craze, Old Olive, River Rock, Very Vanilla
  • Accessories: Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Scallop Circle Bigz Die, Clear Circle Bigz Die, 3-1/2" & 3" Circle & Circles #2 Originals Dies, Regals Brads, Cherry Cobbler 3/8" Quilted Satin Ribbon, Paper Snips, 2-Way Glue Pen

Christmas Advent Calendars

I have always wanted to make an Advent calendar and didn't know where to start.  This year I am amazed that Stampin' Up! came up with the products in the Holiday Mini to make one.  The stamp set 25 & Counting and the new Peekaboo Frame Bigz Die are the perfect and easy way to create one.  I purchased a couple of different 12x12 frames at the "M" store.  I'm using textured Very Vanilla 12 x 12 card stock for the matte.

Here's how they turned out:
